Penang & Whale Shark

Well hello again and I’m so sorry that I haven’t updated what I’m doing. Work and moving and visa run have been first priority. I got a thought the other day about Ice skating. It was a long time ago and now that I know there's snow and ice in Sweden I really want t go. When I was playing hockey I was not the best guy with the stick and techniques but I could skate, I was probably the quickest one on the skates when I was young. Well I’m diving instead which is still so much better. Bubbles makes me happy

So when you are living in Thailand you have to get a VISA, I had 90 + 30 days I got from Singapore. So last week me and Marika went for a Visa run to Penang.
We started the trip late 01:00 from a gas station by the highway to Trang. There a minivan picked us up and drove us the whole way to the malaysian border. A sleepy minivan got a call from the driver to stand by and when he stopped the car we all runned. We tried to get before everyone else and be the first in line by the border.

We arrived at our hotel around 09:00 and a breakfast buffĂ© was served and we got our rooms.Luckily I had Marika with me who done this trip three times already. So she was more like a guide and organized the trip and activities. First we went for shopping in the shopping mall and took a coffee. Then we went on the famous “street of art” in Penang, Small alleys where you find paintings on the house walls.
Then we had some recommendations from Mel to eat dinner at this street food place. They had so much food that I never seen people eaten before, me and Marika ordered a meal and it was so good!
Over all Penang was awesome, good food, good organization, good coffee and of course good company.

Back in Lanta and Marika has finally moved in to my bungalow, well know it’s more our Bungalow. The bungalow have been monitored and decorated with hangers soap proper laundry basket etc. I guess the bungalow needed a woman touch.

And for your info we saw a Whale shark at Hin Daeng yesterday””

No mantas but a WHALE SHARK for Eric

No Mantas But WHALE SHARK

Eric has now spend his time on Koh Lanta and with me. It have been so much fun. He have now traveled all by himself meet new friends and have seen more deeply in to how a dive shop works. He also have had much time spending around a swimming pool in the mountains with great view with a shake in his hand , while I have been out working. Will miss you Eric thank you for this awesome month! And me and everyone else would like to see you soon again <3
Eric is trying to compete against our french who's making the best crepes
Eric trying out Yangs wine

Eric have done a awesome work and are now a Advanced Open Water diver and have 25 dives. He really got his eyes open for diving and hopefully he can follow me on a diving trip later on.
Well we didn’t see any Manta Rays as I promised him but one day at Koh Haa we saw something totally different. It was strong current and me Eric and another guy was struggling through, at that time I looked to my left and there I see a big Fish with small bright white spots. It was a WHALE SHARK! I looked back on Eric and the only thing I saw was a big smile and Eric had to hold his regulator in his mouth to actually be able to breath down 15 m. People are diving thousands of dives before they see one, but Eric didn’t have to dive more than 20 to see it, he was very lucky.

Now when Eric left the bungalow is much bigger when his inflatable mattress is not longer around. No Mantas has been seen either, hopefully they show up soon. Me and Marika have finally send some emails in for work around Mediterranean, now we need to keep our fingers crossed.

We had our yearly ceremony for our boat, Angry Bird. We went to captains Island where his family stay and they had cooked goat in curry with rice and noodles very good but spicy … Captain does this to wish our diving boat safe travels.
