Hey guys!
I need to tell you that this diving here is so good! Of course that it’s most unlikely to see a whale shark swimming by but you can see many spectacular things here as well. What I like here is how easy access you have to the dive sites, well you need to survive the crazy maltese drivers but when you get to the dive site by car it’s only one step from the water. The sites are incredible, close to the Gozo ferry you have a place called Cirkewwa. A reef designed for divers for all levels. You have two cool wrecks from the World war 2 and a great reef where you can find a “gnome garden” , nudibranchs, octopus, trevallies and so much more. It is one fun story about a statue down in a cavern at 15m, called the Madonna. Malta is a very religious country and every sunday the faithfull goes to church. But this group of divers wanted to go diving so they took down a saint under the surface and had their own church at their favourite dive site. The madonna is still there and I actually asked madonna to bless my diving and so far she has.
My favourite wreck dive so far must have been Um el faroud. It is a big Libyan tank ship that was operating between Italy, England and Libya. During maintenance in Valletta harbour 1995 a gas explosion erupted and nine people lost their lives. A monument has been created close to the wreck at the sea bottom to honour the people who lost their lives.
Great dive and to swim through the exploded wreck is hard to explain, it’s just amazing

I picked Marika late from the airport, her flight was delayed from Frankfurt. So nice to see her again and i couldn’t wait to share and plan the rest of the season. When I got back from work the next day a energized and happy Marika was meeting me at the door. She had packed up all her things and had taking down the “ugly” paintings of birds over our bed. We also refurnish the room to get more space. Now it feel like a home, we always take a run or a walk on the evenings. Marika has started to bring sticks and other things to design and write quotes on.
We had our days off on sunday and enjoyed it by going to Valetta to explore. Great city and a beautiful but windy day.

Now I’m just in the middle of teaching a course and Marika is still fun diving at cool wrecks and reefs to get to know the place around. Tomorrow is her first day at the Um el Faroud. I know she will love it
Have it great around the world.
