Birthday and Midsummer

One year older and first time in my life I celebrate my birthday abroad.  It was awesome, thanks to all birthday wishes and Marika. To bad to not spend the day with family as I always have, but you need to try something new and it turned out to be a birthday to remember.

Marika asked what I wanted to do on my birthday and I wanted to watch the sunset at anchor bay with a glas of wine, ok she said and I also wanted to make a cake for my work colleges.
The 17th morning was cake baking time. We made whip cream and bought strawberries. Very impressed of the cake.

Evening arrived on the 18th and it was time for us to go to watch the sunset. We left a little bit early because Marika said the bus goes in 10 minutes. we starting to walk to the bus stop but Marika kept going and stoped outside an hotel. At this point i was very confused and more I was about to get. I had to put on an headset so I didn't heard anything. Eventually a car showed up and picked us up. Now I knew we where not going to Anchor Bay.
After 15 minutes of driving Marika told me to cover my eyes, the car took a quick turn out on a dirt road and stoped. I went out open my eyes and I just saw a big sign saying Horse riding.
It was a sunset riding by the coast. So beautiful and a great surprise. Great to watch the sunset on a horseback i must say. After two hours of awesome riding we went back to Mellieha and had some sparkling wine watching the yellow lights from all the boats in the bay. Marika made this day to a birthday to remember.

Midsummer is also something I celebrate for the first time abroad. I really love Midsummer and Belinda the other swedish instructor planned a midsummer dinner at our place.
With "snaps" hearing and all the other good stuff you need to have we made a really good tasting dinner.
The whole Go dive squad showed up and at least the tried the hearing and sang songs and drank the "snaps".
Great evening.

Staff Drinks

Hello happy Monday!

The days are just keep coming with awesome dives, happy days and new happy people.
During this week i did my first night dive with costumers. I did it with Allan & Neil two guys from Britain. Neil is a divemaster but have never done a night dive. He was a little bit nervous in the  sunset drive to Cirkewwa, and  I have never seen him listen so closely on my dive briefing and handsignals with the dive torch.
I have to say it Malta is one of the best places you can do a night dive. The dive sites change when the darkness arrive and other species are turning up.
After seeing both stingrays, octopus, cuttlefish and many other animals Neil came up very happy. He really enjoyed that.

Every Friday we have something we call "staff drinks" it's a meet up with all the costumers from the previous week and we have a couple drinks and talk. This Friday night was spend at reflections a nice bar in the middle of Mellieha with Karaoke and a good atmosphere.
I had to sing a song "sex on fire "  of Kings of Leon, great fun but. I think Neil and Allan didn't want the evening to end so they bought us round after round. Until 1 Am we decided to try to get home. Thanks guys for the evening super fun!

Here we have the three instructors this season at Reflection a little bit tipsy maybe but we still look amazing!
Oscar, Belinda , Marika

I have to say the Pizzas here are amazing!!! We ate out everyone from our apartment. James have now moved in and he will become i Divemaster in a couple of month, finally I can give back on everything I had to struggle with from "mean" instructors ...... hahah

Sundays Fun day

Hello, bet the weather is warm in Sweden at the moment and here it's starting to get warm as well. The summer is coming and the temperature in both water and air is getting hot. The ocean is about 21 degrees and the surface 30. This feels perfect in one month the heatwaves will arrive and the temperature will go up to around 45 degrees.

The work is going great, Marika has started to work too. I have taught my first courses and they went very well, great fun!
Today is Sunday which means a day off. We had heard rumors about dolphins in our dive site. The beast chance to see them is diving early in the mornings. So yesterday we took home our equipment and prepared our self to dive early at Cirkewwa. We went up 06:00 in the morning the ocean was flat as ice and the sun was just about to reach the dark blue water and time in the water was 07:00 just me Belinda and Marika and the fisher mens , Great sunrise dive.
We went deep to a wreck ( P29 old german minesweeper) No luck with dolphins but a great morning dive.

For lunch we made a mozzarella Fitira ( Maltese bread) and drank Sangria in the sun.

In the afternoon we went to the beach. Our bosses Kevin and Lyndsay had brought their kayaks and SUV:s and loads of inflatable toys the whole staff was on the beach playing and having a blast!
These guys call it fun day Sunday and I'm pretty sure we will do this again.

Other than that me and Marika always tries to take a little walk or watch the sunset and take a evening swim. Love to just be her and me and get away from our flat for a while and just relax together by the shoreline.

Its important to enjoy and relax as much as we can when we having our time off. As in any job the best part is when the weekend arrives!!
